Nov. 9, 1938-April 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that we lost James Louis Baum unexpectedly on April 16, 2020, He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Maria Baum(nee Gray), his parents James Manard Baum & Helen Ozella Baum(nee Fuller), sister Jody Ann Fielder(nee Baum) he was survived by daughter Janet Beck, son Steven James Baum, daughter-in-law Kathy Goodman, daughter Lisa Ann Marie Baum a loving grandfather to Dustin James Baum, Tracey & Diane Beck Leigha, Kirsten & Caleb Ramey.

Known as “Uncle Jigs” to Rick, Michael, Danny, Sherri & James Fielder, and a friend to many countless others! He was a Veteran of the Armed Forces who stood firm on Honor and Pride, HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED AND LIVE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!

Petar Zanko, 75, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his adoring family in Chesterfield, Missouri on April 22, 2020.

Petar is survived by his wife Ankica of 44 years; daughters Jelena Zanko and Angela (Nathan) Mall; son John Zanko and son-in-law Nathan Mall; grandchildren Madelyn, Christian, and Ava Mall; sister Maša (Ivan) Barać and Anka (Ivan) Barać; brothers Stipan (Zlata) Zanko and Luka Zanko; dear friend and brother-in-law Ivan Barać, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Petar was a loving husband, father, grandfather (dida), brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend to so many.

Petar was born in Obrovac Sinjski, Croatia in 1944 and lived in Paris, France for several years before ultimately moving to the United States in 1970. He was a hardworking, self-made man who created a career as a Master Plumber and entrepreneur, eventually starting his own small business which he oversaw until he retired. He had a great love for nature and the outdoors, choosing to spend beautiful days tending to his garden and yard, fishing with his beloved grandson Christian, playing buće ball with his Croatian pals or simply sitting in the sun. He also enjoyed cooking, spending time in “the country” (Christopher, IL), watching baseball and hockey games with his son John, and visiting his beloved homeland of Croatia with his wife, children and grandchildren.

A mass will be held at St. Joseph Croatian Catholic Church on Saturday, April 25th followed by a burial at Resurrection Cemetery, but due to COVID-19 these services must be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer (https://go2foundation.org/). Petar will be dearly missed, but we take comfort knowing he is eternally resting at peace and reunited with so many loved ones.

Cynthia Jane Mossman, On Wednesday April 22, 2020 Cynthia Jane Mossman, Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother and friend to so many passed away at the age of 88.
Cynthia was born December 14, 1931 in Roodhouse, Illinois to ( Mary Smith) and Albert
Savage. She was employed at Trimfoot Shoe Company in Farmington, Missouri for 12 years
prior to moving to Arnold,Missouri. In Arnold she was self employed as daycare for preschool
children. On February 18,1948 she was married to Charles William Mossman.
She is survived by three children Charles William Mossman Jr.(Dian), Clyde Wesley Mossman
(Linda), Carl Wayne Mossman (Lisa). 6 Grandchildren Chad Mossman (Sandy), Michelle
Denman (Scott), Tammy Donnelly (Matt), Justin Mossman (Tara), Curtis Mossman (Crystal),
Elijah Duncan (Lana). 19 Great Grandchildren Courtney Mossman, Jeremy Mossman, Megan
Mossman, Grace Denman, Kaylee Denman, Tyler Denman, Brianna Donnelly, Peyton Donnelly,
Isabella Donnelly, Tyler Mossman, Makayla Mossman, Taylor Duncan, Ryann Duncan, Dasha
Duncan, Austin Boyer, Seth Boyer, Chase Boyer, Riley Boyer. 2 Great Great Grandchildren
Brooklyn Mossman, Elena Smith. 3 Sisters Mary Walsh, Margie Recter and Delma Long.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Mary and Albert Savage. 4 Step sisters
Goldie, Jessie, June, & Doris.

Services are Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.

82, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Monday, April 20, 2020. Born on January 14, 1938, to the late Albert and Anne Tokos. Survived by 2 brothers, Jim (Charlotte) Tokos and Tom (Carol) Tokos; dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many. Bill enjoyed dirt track motorcycles, sprint car races, and Cardinals baseball.

Services: Services at Kutis South County Chapel. Private burial Jefferson Barracks. Memorial at later date.

Albert George Grosch, a prominent St. Louis amateur sports enthusiast and organizer, passed away April 7, 2020 in extra innings at the age of 101. Son of George J. and Elizabeth (Sutter) Grosch. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Eileen (McLaughlin) Grosch. Albert is survived by four children, Arthur Grosch of Phoenix, Ariizona, Margaret Mary Heibel (John), Michael Grosch, Albert M. Grosch (Cindy); ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marie Marklin (Rich), Bernice Novak (Stanley), predeceased Anna Mae Strauss (Frank), Carol Strauss (Harold). Albert also had three brothers killed in WW2, Richard (Marines) on the island of Tinian, Arthur (Navy) stationed in the USS Eagle, torpedoed by German U-Boat, Raymond (Coast Guard) drowned in Gasconade River, Norbert died as infant of pneumonia. Albert also served WW2 in the Army Engineers. He remained in the states due to the deaths of brothers killed in service.

In his youth growing up in Baden, Al developed a passion for organizing and participating in numerous sports, especially a love of baseball beginning in 1927 when the Cardinals defeated the Yankees. Some of his sporting achievements included winning the State of Missouri table tennis championship in 1938, also the EJ Wallace Amateur Hockey Championship for St. Louis in 1941-42 with the Baden Bees playing goal. His first love was always baseball and he played with the following teams in the old Muny leagues: Sunrise, West Side Buick, Pelligreen Const., Borbein-

Young, Ray Doles and Kutis. (1951-1960) All was asked to Manage and Coach The Fred W. Stockham Post#245 American Legion Junior Baseball team. Stockham Post won the MIssouri State championship in 1953 and also the National Championship in 1956 in Bismark, ND. This team traveled with adversity due to breaking the color barrier of having the first African American player in the St. Louis Legion program. This 1956 Championship was the first for St. Louis and the State of Missouri. The team was treated to a ticker tape parade downtown on their return. Al and his team were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Al was Past President and Secretary with the Greater St. Louis Major League Scouts Association. Scouted for over twenty years with the New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles. Al was inducted into the Scouts Hall of Fame. Served on the Board of Directors, screening committee with the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. He was inducted as a member in 1976. Al was a charter member and served on the Board of Directors with the Metro Collegians Instructional Baseball League.

Al was a 60 year member of Fred W. Stockham Post #4 and served as a Commander (1984-85). Elected to President of the Past Commanders Club (1998). The highlight of his dedication and service to Stockham Post#4 was being honored in 2014 as the American Legionnaire of the year for St. Louis. Inducted in Voiture Locale #38 Grand Voiture DU 40 & 8 (2000).

Services through Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois. Visitation May 14, 2020, 4-6 p.m and then burial on May 15, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred, or donations to Fred W. Stockham American Legion Post #4, (631 Coachway Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042) for Veterans and Youth programs.

Richard James “Dick” O’Mara passed into eternity on April 23, 2020 at the age of 89 in the arms of Shirl, his loving wife of 63 years.  Dick was the son of Jim and Ruth O’Mara and brother to Pat O’Mara (Joan) and a proud Army veteran.  Dick was an avid motorcyclist and hot rod enthusiast.  Dick built award winning custom cars, including the O’Mara-Eckholm Special he drove to a land speed record at Bonneville and membership in the 200 MPH Club.  Dick was a toymaker as well. His hand painted, all steel toy trucks are treasured by friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews, Edmond Woestendiek, Rob Woestendiek (Nancy), Joe Barnard, Mike O’Mara (Annie), Tim O’Mara (Val), Susan Burks (David) and Kelly Kinnaman (Ken).  Dick’s family and friends will miss him deeply and will remember him always.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Wed., Apr. 29, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Concludes at Funeral Home.

Richard was devoted to his family, his wife of 48 years Patty, his sons Jeff and Mike, and especially his granddaughter Annabelle. He loved to fish and spend time working in his yard. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed visiting new places. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Beloved wife of 63 years to Turner Reid; loving mother of Steve (Karen) Reid, Craig (Jeannette) Reid, Scott (Kris) Reid, Jon (Beth) Reid, Kelly (Brad) Jackson, and Laura (Jeff) Kuennen; dear grandmother of Sarah, Michael, Meghan, Katherine, Shannon, Jon Jr., Austin, Madison, Taylor, Reagan, Krystal, Joshua, Benjamin and the late Christian; dear sister of Lucille Rodgers; dear great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Although not a native of STL, Pat loved raising her family in Affton. She spent multiple decades serving the Affton School District in the PTO. She was active at Concord Church and held her faith dear always. She loved to shop, spend meals with family and friends, entertain family, watch birds and deer out her window, read a good book, decorate her home, enjoy trips to Hot Springs, AR, and loved sunning on the beach. Pat appreciated life, especially the small things and loved God. She truly treasured her family, was blessed with many friends, and absolutely devoted to her high school sweetheart.
SERVICES: Private interment at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Memorial services to be held at a later date. A KUTIS AFFTON SERVICE.
