Carol Ann Semar, (nee: Steinnerd) of Sappington, MO was born in the city of St. Louis on November 2, 1953 and passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the age of 66.  Cherished daughter of the late Sylvester and Mildred Steinnerd; devoted mother of John (Meghan) Semar; beloved sister of Ray (Susan) Steinnerd; loving aunt of Keith (Ashlee) Steinnerd and Cheryl (Eric) Grunwald; great aunt to Kinsley and Raelyn Steinnerd; and treasured future grandmother of John and Meghan’s soon-to-be adopted child.

At an early age, Carol developed a love of reading which she later passed down to her son.  She was a fan of President Kennedy and collected memorabilia exhibiting his likeness.  Carol also enjoyed horses.  She eagerly anticipated the Kentucky Derby and asked her son, John, to help with purchasing an official Mint Julep Glass online each year.  Carol was reliable and dutiful as an employee during long tenures with both State Farm and the St. Louis County Government.

Later in life, Carol treasured the friendships that she made after joining The Living Church of God, including Leon Dorothy who was a frequent traveling companion.  Despite having two previous battles with cancer, she lived her life in a determined fashion having traveled all around the United States and twice to Canada in the last handful of years.  Carol showed her generosity by consistently keeping in touch with friends and family.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and had the gift of knowing her.
