Beloved husband of Allison Faber; loving son of Monica and David Sechrist; dear brother of Danny (Erika), Brian and David Sechrist; dear grandson of Margarete Piechota, dear son-in-law of Peter and Shawnell Faber, dear brother-in-law of Phillip (Lauren) and Ethan (Brittany) Faber;  dear uncle of Gabriel, Jaiden, Abigail, Aiden, Asher, Aubrey, August, Theodore, Annabele; survived by his “battle buddies;, Timothy Boyd, Aaron Prieto, Keith Poirier and Christopher Fleming; dear nephew, cousin and friend.

Brandon was a US Army veteran serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

(nee O’Hara) Passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
Loving wife of Gary McClure; beloved daughter of Eugene and Nancy O’Hara; loving mother of Crystal Welch and step-mother of Lavina Padgett, Jason (Tiffany) McClure, Nick McClure and Brittney (Patrick) O’Donnell; dearest grandmother of Kanden, Tatem, Esther, Abigail, Anna, Courtney, Paul and Austin, and great-grandmother of June; dearest sister of Timothy (Anita) O’Hara, and half sister of Thomas Scott , Shari (John) Schlosser, and Randy (Nancy) Scott, and all of their children; dear aunt of Collin and Curtis O’Hara.

Rhonda was deeply cherished by her family and greatly enjoyed family trips to her favorite beach in Destin, Florida. She adored taking weekend trips to their cozy winery getaway in Hermann, MO with her beloved husband. Rhonda was an active supporter of our local law enforcement community and an avid elephant enthusiast and collector. She was loving, kind, and adored by all of those who knew her. Rhonda emitted such love and strength which carried her all the way through to a very peaceful closing to this part her journey.

SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Saturday, September 28, 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the International Elephant Foundation or any charity of your choice.

Humes, Ura Wayne

Ura Wayne Humes “Wayne”, 66, of St. Louis, passed away on Sunday September 22, 2019, in Reynolds County, Missouri.

He was born on August 25, 1953 in Sikeston, Missouri the son of the late Bill and Patricia (Cornell) Humes. Wayne was a graduate of Northwest High School in Cedar Hill, Missouri in 1971.  He attended St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.  He married the love of his life, Rebecca Hoit, on August 17,1973.

Wayne was a retired Purchasing Manager for Keystone Technologies.  Prior to Keystone, Wayne worked as an Operations Supervisor for Metropolitan Sewer District.  He served on the board of directors for the Missouri Water Environment Association.  He was also a volunteer and campground host for Missouri State Parks. Wayne was a member of City on a Hill church.

Wayne enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his wife Becky, his children and his pride and joy, his eight granddaughters.  He had recently retired and was loving life as a full time RVer.

In addition to his wife Rebecca, Wayne is survived by his son Eric (Sarah) Humes, daughter Sarah (Montez) Fitzpatrick, eight granddaughters Claire Humes, Emilie Humes, Liah Kahn, Elise Humes, Chloe Humes, Cedar Fitzpatrick, Maya Fitzpatrick, and Macy Fitzpatrick, his brother David Humes, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Steven Humes and Michael Humes.

Services: Visitation will be on Thursday September 26, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 at Kutis Funeral Home 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, Mo 63129.

The funeral service will be on Friday September 27, 2019 at 11:30 at Kutis Funeral Home 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, Mo 63129.  Burial will be immediately after the service at Park Lawn Cemetery 1800 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.

Father Donald Buhr, baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection, on Saturday, September 14, 2019.

Cherished brother of the late Jack (the late Pat) Buhr, Mary Ann (the late Richard) Greene, the late Jane (the late Charles) Buchholz, the late Bob (Carol) Buhr, the late Tom (Sharon) Buhr and the late Paul (Mary) Buhr.

Born in St. Louis to John and Aurelia (Craden) Buhr, Father Buhr attended St. Louis Prep Seminary, Cardinal Glennon College and Kenrick Seminary.  He was ordained to the priesthood on March 26,1966, at the St.Louis Cathedral by Cardinal Joseph E. Ritter.

His first assignment as a priest was assistant pastor of St. Justin Martyr, Sunset Hills (1966).  He also was assistant pastor of Little Flower, Richmond Heights (1966-71); associate pastor at St. Charles Borromeo, St. Charles (1971-77); associate pastor at Assumption, St. Louis County (1977-83); and associate pastor at Holy Cross in St. Louis (1983-87)

In 1987, he became pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Crestwood (1987-96); pastor of St. Sabina, Florissant (1996-97); senior associate pastor of St. Mary Magdalen, Brentwood (1998-2000);  pastor, Our Lady of Fatima, Florissant (2000-05);  senior associate pastor St. John the Baptist, Gildehaus (Villa Ridge) (2005-09);  pastor Our Lady of the Holy Cross, St. Louis (2009-15).

In 2015, he retired with residence at Seven Holy Founders Parish in Affton.  He moved to Regina Cleri in 2018.

A memorial Mass for Father Buhr will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, October 4, at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church, 6741 Rock Hill Road in Affton.  Father Buhr donated his body to science.

Nicholas J. Bamvakais was called to his eternal resting place on September 17, 2019. Beloved husband of 61 years to Jeanette (nee Hurst) Bamvakais. Dearest father to Laurie (Rocky) Boice; Nick, Mary and Steve Bamvakais. Nicholas leaves a loving legacy of nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Nicholas was a proud Missouri Army National Guard Veteran. His love of travel was well known. He and Jeanette were lucky enough to visit many places, including Alaska and Hawaii. We will miss his sense of humor, his vast knowledge of odd facts and history, and his love of television and word find puzzle books.

Services: A Patriot Guard procession will begin at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, October 4, proceeding to Jefferson Barracks for a 2 p.m. roadside service.

Daniel Carl Uhlig, one of 5 children, was born in St. Louis, January 3, 1937 to Carl Daniel and Louise Laura nee Buchholz Uhlig. He was baptized January 31, 1937 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he later attended elementary school. On Palm Sunday, April 2, 1950, he confirmed his faith.

He met his wife, Gale Poff, at Holy Cross Walther League while he was attending Cleveland High School and she was attending Roosevelt High School. Four years later, September 22, 1956, they were married. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children, Diane (Skip), Donna, (Dan), and Carl (Barb). They continued to be blessed with 5 grandchildren Matt (Megan), Danny (Jenny), Joey (Katie), MaryKate and Kelly and 2 great grandchildren Quinn and Claire (and another great grand baby due March 2020). Dan served in the US Army Reserves (1960-1966) as a Sergeant when discharged. In 1955 he entered the plumbing profession as an apprentice plumber. He was a proud member of Plumber’s Local 35. He started teaching welding part time in 1968 for approximately 17 years and then started instructing all apprentice subjects for 6 years at which time he was appointed the Director of Education in 1992. He retired at age 60 and enjoyed many years of retirement traveling, playing and watching golf, going to the gym and enjoying his family. Dan was a loving and devoted husband and father and a conscientious and a steadfast Christian.

He encountered numerous hospitalizations and for the past 2 years he courageously battled the prostate cancer which spread throughout his entire body without complaint. Finally, at his home, Tuesday, September 24, 2019, he peacefully departed this life. He achieved the age of 82 years, 8 months and 21 days.

Services; Visit at Kutis So. Co, Fri., 9//27, 4-8 p.m. Service Sat., Peace Lutheran Church, 10:30 a.m. Following this service, he will be interred at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Affton, MO.
