Jr. (Peggy) and William (Patricia) Bertels; grandfather of Christine Wunder (Scott), Robert Bertels, Jennifer LaPlant (Joe), Kayce Bertels, Katherine and Adam (Lan) Bertels; great-grandfather of Mira Wunder, Isabella Ansell, Joseph and Abigail LaPlant; son of the late George and Nellie (Bailey) Bertels; brother of the late Helen Vaughn, Gordian and Robert Bertels; brother-in-law of Marion Davis (the late Norris) and Patricia Bertels; Godfather of Marietta Lauridsen, Patricia Kleinigger, Jeff Bertels and Michael Davis; uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Member of Seven Holy Founders Church since 1950. Member of American Legion Lemay Memorial Post #162. Past employee of International Shoe Co., Manufacture Supplies and SFS Associates. Volunteer for Liturgical Fabric Arts, Notre Dame High School and Nazareth Living Center.
