O’Brien, Mary Ellen “Aunt Mary” (nee Fitzler), 95 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Beloved wife of Chester F. O’Brien for 55 years before his passing in 2006; dearest sister of Lois Toler and the late Frank J. Fitzler and Vera Fitzler-Daniels; she is survived by numerous grateful nieces and nephews.
Mary was a talented artist, golfer, baker and gardener. She was a past member of the Monday Club in Webster Groves and served as a volunteer in the gift shop at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Mary and her husband were devoted to their families, never missing a family event and always being ready to help whenever needed.
The family would like to extend its thanks to Shannon Shaw, her devoted caregiver and friend.
Services: Visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road, Thursday, October 5, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to a charity of your choice.
