Webb, Henry A.

3-24-1923 – 8-21-2017 Passed peacefully early Monday morning during his sleep of natural causes, after experiencing progressively declining health over the last 6 months. He had been a resident of Laclede Groves for 1 month.

Beloved father of Charles M. (Mattia), Doris A., and John N. (Pam) Webb. Grandfather of Mark, Matthew(Amber), Michael and Abby. Great-grandfather of Devon and Phoenix. Former husband of the late M. Catherine (Dieffenderfer) Webb of Berwick, PA. Former husband of the late Theresa H. (Schlett) Webb of DeSoto, MO.

Son of Mark Miles Webb & Elizabeth Sabina (Welliver) Webb of Berwick, PA. Elder brother of Charles Benjamin Webb, 91, of Miffinville, PA.

Born and raised in Berwick, PA, graduated from Berwick High School in 1941; joined the Army 1/2/1943; discharged 11/10/1945. Was a Pvt. 1st Class of the Army Headquarters Bettery, 38th Division. Training:Fort Still, Oklahoma as an expert rifelman-M1, Carbine.; Camp Livingston, LA. in communications, as a switchboard installer/repairman.

WWII Veteran: South Pacific Front–New Guinea, Southern Philippines (Leyte), Luzon

Medals: Good Conduct, Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 Bronze Star, American Service Medal Asiatic Pacific Service with 3 Bronze Stars.

Past Post Commander of the American Legion Post 233 in Berwick, PA.

Was employed 23 years at ACF (American Car & Foundry) as a project engineer, building all types of railroad cars and Army tanks. Transferred to St. Louis in 1967 and worked as supervisor of the template shop until the plant closed. Retired from Lever Brothers (Unilever) in 1988 after employment as a senior engineering tech.

Has resided in South St. Louis County and been a member of Concord Trinity Methodist Church for the past 50 years.

-Member of Scottish Rite 32 Mason and a proud DeMolay father

-Member of the Moolah Temple Shrine Band for 40 years-clarinest

-Graduated from St. Louis Police Academy as a reserve Police Officer

-Deputy Game Protector for the PA Game Commission for 17 years

-Firearms instructor for the Berwick Civil Defense Police

-Life member of the NRA

-Outdoorsman

-Travel (Nat Geo–cultures and places)

Memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in lieu of flowers.
