Simon, Subdeacon George J., Sr.

Dear husband of Marilue Simon (nee Gugliano).  Dear father of Patti (Kevin) Carnie, Loretta Simon, Brenda (Mike) Winebright, Linda Hill, John (Margie) Simon, Mary Anne (Brad) Powell, Theresa (Tim) Brotherton, Tony (Mary Pud) Simon, George (Elaine) Simon, Kathi (Jodi) Slinkard and Tony (Haifa) Sabat. Dear Giddo of Kevin and Ali Carnie, David and Allison Carnie, Emily Carnie, Adam Winebright, Brian Winebright, Jen and Christian Gordon, Sarah Winebright, Karen and Jackson Pugh, Jackie Hill, Andy Hill, Sam Hill, George and Esraa Simon, Johnny and Natasha Simon, Mary Simon, Grace Powell, Tommy Powell, Jane Powell, Annie and Chad Andrews, Timmy Brotherton, Jacob Brotherton, Patrick Brotherton, Olivia Simon, Monica Simon, Anthony Simon, Jack Simon, Chris Simon, Maria Simon, Theresa Simon, Sarah Simon, Caroline Simon, Rebecca Simon, Elizabeth Simon, Elizabeth Slinkard, Simon Slinkard, Sophia Slinkard, Peter Slinkard, Mary Catherine Slinkard, Georgia Slinkard, Anthony Sabat, Gabby Sabat, Matthew Sabat, and John Sabat; Dear Great-Giddo of Reese Carnie, Charlie Pugh, and soon to make their appearance Ava Gordon and Kendall Carnie.  Our dear uncle, great uncle, cousin, friend, confidant and boss.

George dedicated his life to those around him, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Saint Raymond’s Cathedral where he served as a Subdeacon for 25 years, operated the carry-out register for Wednesday lunches and devoted his time to visiting the sick of the parish. His fondest past time was selling fruits, vegetables, and everything else at Simon’s Produce at Soulard Market since his arrival in America in 1947. He was and will be greatly loved and will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as he dedicated his life to them.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS CITY CHAPEL, 2906 Gravois Road, Saturday October 1st, 9:15 a.m. to St. Raymond’s Cathedral for 10:00 Mass. Interment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Visitation Friday, September 30th 2-8 p.m. with Maronite Prayer of Incense at 7:00 p.m.  Donations to St. Raymond’s Cathedral Memorial Fund and Masses are greatly appreciated.
